The Nursing Innovations Fund program offers grants for innovative, replicable, and promising solutions aimed at strengthening the nursing workforce. These solutions focus on creating and sustaining healthy work environments and improving recruitment and retention rates of registered nurses.
Why AARP?
AARP recognizes our nation’s severe shortage of nurses and understands a robust nursing workforce is essential for the care of older adults and their families. In collaboration with other organizations, AARP supports and administers the Nursing Innovations Fund as a strategic initiative to bolster the nursing workforce.
History of the Nursing Innovations Fund
The Nursing Innovations Fund was created in 2018 by the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action and managed by the Center to Champion Nursing in America, both were initiatives of AARP Foundation, AARP, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and sunset in May 2025.
