ABOUT

Staci Alexander, MPA, is vice president of Thought Leadership at AARP, where she helps shape and advance the national conversation on longevity, aging, and equity. Staci works across sectors to amplify AARP’s voice, elevate new ideas, and translate insights into action. She leads a multidisciplinary team of issue experts and partners across sectors to drive solutions that improve the experience of aging for individuals and communities.

With deep experience in convening leaders, cultivating cross‑sector partnerships, and guiding national initiatives, Staci has built a career at the intersection of policy, philanthropy, communications, and social impact. Her work focuses on advancing inclusive, evidence‑based approaches to aging that center equity, access, and long‑term societal change.

Prior to joining AARP, Staci served as assistant director at MacNeil/Lehrer Productions and as a senior associate with the Aspen Institute’s Community Strategies Group. She has also worked as a staff member in the United States Senate, a lobbyist supporting urban and rural affordable housing development, and a grantmaker—bringing a multifaceted perspective to complex social challenges.

Staci is deeply committed to community and board leadership. She serves on the board of the Gerontological Society of America, contributing to the advancement of interdisciplinary research, education, and practice in aging. She also serves on the board of the Institute for Exceptional Care, where she supports efforts to improve health outcomes for people with developmental disabilities. In addition, she is a volunteer commissioner with the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Staci holds a Master of Public Administration from the City University of New York’s Baruch School of Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Vassar College. She is also a graduate of Leadership Fairfax (Virginia), Class of 2020.
