Lynn Mertz, PhD

Lynn Mertz, PhD, is a senior strategic policy advisor with the AARP Global Thought Leadership team. In her role she partners with business unit leads to address areas of disparities, housing, and health care facing older adults.

Prior to joining the Thought Leadership team, Lynn spent seven years with the Center to Champion Nursing in America at AARP, where she was a senior strategic policy advisor. During that time, she contributed to the CCNA’s Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, an initiative of AARP, the AARP Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and managed special issue areas such as leadership, interprofessional collaboration, population health, and health equity.

Lynn has a PhD in higher education from Seton Hall University, a master’s in urban planning from New York University and a bachelor’s in economics from Drew University.
