Justin Ladner, PhD, is senior advisor on AARP’s Thought Leadership team with a focus on the longevity economy. Much of his work has focused on analyzing trends in the civilian labor market. He has conducted extensive research into the factors affecting occupational mobility, personnel training, recruiting and retention. In his role at AARP, Justin manages Thought Leadership’s research portfolio for the Longevity Economy, which examines the myriad ways in which people age 50 and older contribute to economic activity around the world. 

Prior to joining AARP, Justin was a senior research scientist at CAN Corporation. There he worked as a research team member, scientific analyst, or project director for numerous studies pertaining to military personnel policy.  

Justin earned his PhD in economics from the University of Michigan. He also has a master’s in economics and a bachelor’s from Boston University.
