John Hagerty

ABOUT

John Hagerty, MBA, is a consumer insights director for AARP Research leading membership related research. Hagerty and his team develop insights to guide strategy in the areas of acquisition, engagement, retention, segmentation, and member experience.

Employed with AARP since 1995, Hagerty previously led member value analysis where he developed AARP’s first Lifetime Value Model and helped develop new product development processes. Hagerty also guided AARP’s relationship marketing efforts while managing AARP’s marketing database. While managing the database, he led segmentation and targeting efforts for service providers, the AARP Foundation, and various AARP local events/activities.

Prior to AARP, Hagerty was a product manager for the United States Postal Service and a quality control analyst within the banking industry.

Hagerty received his master’s from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business in the areas of finance and marketing. He received his bachelor’s in economics and business administration from Kalamazoo College.
