Locations: Over 3,300 stores across North America

One day a week, typically on Tuesday or Wednesday, Goodwill shoppers 55 or older may be eligible for 10 to 30 percent off in-store purchases, depending on the location. Not every store participates.

2. Kohl’s

Discount: 15 percent | Age: 60+ | Day: Wednesday

Locations: Over 1,100 stores in every state but Hawai‘i

On Wednesdays, Kohl’s shoppers 60 or older can snag a 15 percent discount on in-store purchases. Percentage-off coupons can’t be combined with the offer.

3. Michaels

Discount: 10 percent | Age: 55+ | Day: Daily

Locations: 1,300 stores in 49 states

Michaels Rewards members 55 or older always get 10 percent off their purchases, including sale items, in stores and online. If you don’t have a Michaels Rewards account, you can still receive a 10 percent discount on in-store purchases by showing proof of age at checkout.

4. PetSmart

Discount: 10 percent | Age: 65+ | Day: Tuesday (grooming only)

Locations: More than 1,660 stores in North America

Customers 65 or older can save on pet costs with 10 percent off at PetSmart’s grooming salon every Tuesday. The deal isn’t offered at all locations, so check with your local store before visiting.

5. Ross Dress for Less

Locations: Over 1,900 stores in 44 states, the District of Columbia and Guam

Ross shoppers 55 or older get 10 percent off in-store purchases every Tuesday. You must notify the store associate at checkout, and an ID may be required.​

6. Savers

Discount: 30 percent | Age: 55+ | Day: Tuesday

Locations: More than 180 stores across the U.S.

Every Tuesday, customers 55 or older get 30 percent off purchases at this thrift store chain. The deal excludes new merchandise. Other restrictions may apply, so check with your local Savers store.

7. Walgreens

Discount: 20 percent | Age: 55+ | Day: First Tuesday of month

Locations: Nearly 8,000 stores nationwide

On the first Tuesday of the month, shoppers 55 or older get 20 percent off regular-price items in stores and online through the myWalgreens rewards program. Prescriptions and clinical services are excluded, and you can’t use coupons on top of the discount. Online shoppers must be logged in to their Walgreens.com account and use the discount code SENIOR20.

8. Clarks
