Munich, North Dakota (population 190), risked becoming a food desert.

Alliance, Ohio (population 21,525), had already become one.

AARP Community Challenge grants helped create grocery options in both communities, one rural, one urban.

AARP grants also helped alleviate hunger in:

  • Dora, Alabama (population 2,255)
  • Seymour, Indiana (population 21,666)
  • Jackson, Tennessee (population 68,264)
  • Sonoma County, California (population 481,812)
