From "The Deuce" and "Roseanne" to "Will and Grace," "NCIS" and "The Brave," which shows are must-see TV?

Back in the so-called golden age of television, Americans huddled around their TVs every night to watch the same popular shows. That was great for conversation the next day — but not so great for those who wanted more choice or were busy during Perry Mason or Father Knows Best.

Welcome to the new golden age. More than 450 scripted TV series are available for your viewing. And with streaming services such as Hulu, Netflix, Amazon and more, you can enjoy your favorites on nearly any e-device you have.

The one drawback? Too many choices!

Enter AARP’s TV for Grownups. Our goal: to filter the choices and help connect you to the smartest, most relevant, most entertaining shows for viewers over 50. TV for Grownups will feature news, reviews, and interviews in each issue of AARP The Magazine and online every week. And, as we do with our influential Movies for Grownups program, we will give TV for Grownups awards starting in 2018 to recognize excellent work by television actors and show creators.
