Key takeaways

  • Heather Locklear, 64, and Lorenzo Lamas, 68, have confirmed their relationship.
  • The couple made their first public appearance together in New Jersey, where fan reaction was enthusiastic.
  • Both stars ended long relationships in 2025.

Heather Locklear, 64, and Lorenzo Lamas, 68, have made their relationship official, delivering a dose of prime time nostalgia for fans who remember when shoulder pads, feathered hair and nighttime soaps ruled television.

A representative for Lamas confirmed the relationship to E! News. For Gen X viewers who spent the 1980s and ’90s watching glossy dramas unfold each week, the pairing feels like an unexpected second act. In a Fox News interview published April 29, Lamas called Locklear “the most amazing woman that I think I’ve ever met.”

Locklear and Lamas are, separately, two of the defining faces of ’80s and ’90s prime time TV. Locklear spent years playing conniving Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place and, before that, sharpened her claws on Dynasty, the show that turned power dressing into a competitive sport.

Lamas built his own soap legacy as Lance Cumson, the charismatic heir at the center of Falcon Crest’s family intrigue.

Their history stretches back even further. A 1983 Playgirl photoshoot put them in the same frame long before any romance was confirmed, a fact the internet rediscovered when dating rumors first surfaced earlier this year.

Those rumors began with photos. TMZ published images of the two celebrating New Year’s Eve together at Barry’s, the steak house at Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Shortly after, Lamas posted an old photo from that 1983 shoot on his personal X account alongside a message about love, then removed it.

But in December, Lamas posted a photo of the two of them together on X: “I cannot believe that this was 43 years ago!” he wrote.

Their first confirmed public appearance came in April at the Chiller Theatre Expo in Parsippany, New Jersey, where both were signing autographs. They arrived coordinated in black.

Sources told TMZ the couple’s adult children from previous relationships are scheduled to meet. Locklear has one daughter, Ava Sambora, 28, from her marriage to guitarist Richie Sambora, 66. Lamas has six children from previous relationships.

Worth noting: A Melrose Place reboot, with Locklear attached, has been in development since 2024. Whether it lands anywhere remains to be seen.

The romance follows significant life changes for both stars. Locklear ended a five-year engagement to high school sweetheart Chris Heisser last year. Lamas’ most recent marriage, to sixth wife Kenna Scott, ended in 2025 as well.

For two stars whose careers helped shape television’s flashiest decades, this real-life reunion may be their most unexpected reboot yet.
