Jennie Garth is experiencing a first in her life at the age of 53.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star shared photos on Instagram sporting various bras and underwear.
The 53-year-old actor expressed her disbelief about doing such a photo shoot over the age of 50.
“I never thought I’d be doing my first underwear shoot at 53 … but here we are!” Garth wrote in her post.
She continued by highlighting her self-assurance about her body.
“I’ve never felt more confident or comfortable in my skin,” she wrote. “I’m proud to be part of this moment — not just because it’s a first for me, but because it’s with a brand that genuinely supports women through every phase of life, including menopause.”
In the United States, over 1 million women enter menopause annually, and 8 to 10 million women experience menopausal symptoms in any given year.
Garth joins over-50 Hollywood contemporaries such as Salma Hayek and Brooke Shields who have defied ageism and traditional beauty metrics by appearing in swimsuits for publications or on social media.
Hayek, 58, is one of several women over 55 to have graced the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition in recent years. In May, the Desperado actor shared with the Today show that she initially tried to “back out” of the photo shoot.
“I was really not confident and very nervous, and then I showed up feeling like, What am I doing here?” Hayek said.
Then, while Hayek was posing for the first shot, a whale majestically jumped out of the water behind her, and everything turned around. “All of a sudden, I felt: This is magical!” she said. “I’m 58. I’m doing this for my generation, especially Mexican women — we thought we were going to be dismissed at 35. And I got so excited, and I felt really free.”

For her 60th birthday, model-actor Brooke Shields shared photos of herself in a black bikini while sitting in a hammock.
“Woke up today in paradise … and in a new decade of life! This is 60! Thank you for all of the birthday love,” Shields wrote on Instagram.
Last year, Garth chatted with AARP about her time on Beverly Hills, 90210, fashion choices and items she no longer wears, including heels.
“Well, I used to wear heels and I don’t now. I don’t wear heels unless I’m getting paid,” she said. “That’s my rule. I used to stay in black a lot. It was my favorite — it’s still kind of my favorite — but I try to explore other colors now, just because it makes me a little happier.”
