The company states that it saves customers who switch to Farmers auto insurance coverage from other companies an average of $413. It also offers discounts for those who bundle home and auto insurance. That being said, U.S. News & World Report puts Farmers in the sixth spot on its list of best auto insurance due to its relatively high premiums.
GEICO
Established in 1936, GEICO was originally called the Government Employees Insurance Company and targeted federal employees and certain categories of servicemembers . The company retains that commitment to supporting the military, currently offering discounts of up to 15 percent on insurance for active-duty service members, retired military members, and members of the National Guard or Reserves.
The company also offers an unspecified discount on car insurance to members of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), Armed Forces Benefit Association (AFBA), and Navy League of the United States (NLUS).
