CHEYENNE – Family caregivers do so much for others. The Cheyenne Caregiving Pit Stop is designed to give something back—without slowing down your day. Just drive through, grab a goody bag, and be on your way. No need to park or get out of your car.

The Pit Stop takes place May 9 from 10 a.m. to noon on the Bomgaars side of Frontier Mall. The event is free, and you don’t need to be an AARP member to take part, but registration is required. Simply register by clicking here or by calling 1-877-926-8200 to sign up.

“Anyone can be a caregiver—whether you’re helping a loved one, a neighbor, your kids, or your parents. Drive on through and let us say thanks,” said AARP Wyoming Senior Associate State Director for Outreach and Local Advocacy Jenn Baier.

At the Pit Stop, AARP volunteers will offer a drive-through experience with goody bags containing helpful resources, self-care ideas, and some treats, as a thank-you for performing this difficult and rewarding work. The goody bags will include:

  • A gift card to a local coffee shop, while supplies last.
  • AARP Wyoming caregiver resources and free events list (800+ online Wyoming classes)
  • 211 chip clip or magnet
  • Water Bottle
  • Blossom Yoga Voucher for a free AARP Class
  • A sweet treat
  • Coupons and product samples to ease the lives of busy caregivers.

“If you are a caregiver, you deserve a moment to rest and recharge,” Baier said.
