Caregiving Boost: Legislation Would Allow for Time Off

AARP in the Virgin Islands is backing legislation by territory Sen. Novelle E. Francis Jr. (D) that would give full-time government employees up to four hours of paid caregiving leave each month.
The proposal would allow workers who are the primary caregiver of a seriously ill spouse, child, parent or other dependent to take up to four hours a month in paid time off to provide care.
