Pickleball Classes Return to St. Luke’s SportsPlex
Pickleball continues to grow in popularity, and this is a great opportunity to keep building on the skills you already have. AARP Lehigh Valley is offering two levels of pickleball instruction at St. Luke’s SportsPlex for players who are ready to move beyond the beginner stage. Please read the class descriptions carefully to ensure you register for the appropriate level.
All classes are led by experienced instructors and combine focused instruction with guided play in a fun, supportive environment.
Pickleball 201: Improvers Play & Learn
Pickleball 201 is designed for players who already know the basics and are ready to build confidence, improve consistency, and begin developing strategy. This session focuses on refining serve and return, learning better shot placement, and improving movement on the court. With guided play and hands-on coaching, participants will strengthen their skills and start playing with greater control and intention while still keeping the experience fun and approachable.
Who should register:
- Players who understand basic rules and scoring
- Participants who have completed introductory or beginner clinics
- Individuals looking to move beyond the beginner level and improve consistency
What to bring:
- Comfortable clothing
- Comfortable shoes (no black soles, please)
- Water bottle
- Paddle if you have one (demo paddles available)
- Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise regimen
Upcoming 201 Sessions and Registration
Pickleball 301: Advanced Play & Strategy
Pickleball 301 is the next step for players who have completed Pickleball 201 and are ready to sharpen their strategic game. This clinic emphasizes shot selection, court positioning, point construction, and decision-making. Players will focus on applying skills learned in Pickleball 201 with greater purpose, recognizing patterns during play, and developing the tactical awareness needed to compete more effectively.
Participants should have a strong command of fundamental shots and feel comfortable playing in a faster-paced game while continuing to refine their strategy and decision-making.
Who should register:
- Players who have completed Pickleball 201
- Participants with a solid command of fundamental shots and skills
- Players who are comfortable in faster-paced play and want to improve strategy
- Individuals interested in shot selection, court positioning, and smarter point construction
What to bring:
- Comfortable clothing
- Comfortable shoes (no black soles, please)
- Water bottle
- Paddle if you have one (demo paddles available)
