Take a Rest: AARP Massachusetts Celebrates Family Caregivers
Pause and Recharge: Free Rest Stops for Caregivers
Caring for someone you love can be rewarding, challenging and everything in between. Whether you’re helping a parent, spouse, friend, neighbor or other loved one, caregiving can take a lot of time and energy. Sometimes, you just need a chance to pause.
This November, during National Family Caregivers Month, AARP Massachusetts is inviting caregivers to do exactly that.
We’re hosting three Rest Stops for Caregivers in Wilbraham, Pittsfield and Worcester. These free events are a chance to take a break, catch your breath and spend a little time focusing on yourself.
At each Rest Stop, you’ll find local organizations and resources that can make caregiving a little easier. You can ask questions, meet other caregivers or simply take some time for yourself. We’ll also have light refreshments and caregiver-focused meditation.
Maybe you’ve been caring for someone for years. Maybe this is all new to you. Or maybe you’re starting to think about what a loved one may need down the road. No matter where you are, you’re welcome.
