Free Fraud Prevention Event Coming to Baton Rouge October 21

Louisianans can join AARP for a half-day event packed with practical tools, expert guidance and community resources to help protect themselves and the people they love from scams.

What the Unmasking Fraud Event in Baton Rouge Offers

Scammers are constantly finding new ways to target people, and staying informed is one of the strongest defenses available. AARP Louisiana is hosting Unmasking Fraud with AARP Louisiana, a free, half-day public event designed to give Louisianans the knowledge and resources they need to recognize scams before they cause harm.

The event takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) Magnolia Theatre, 201 Community College Drive, in Baton Rouge. Admission is free and open to everyone.

A Nationally Recognized Fraud Expert Will Deliver the Keynote

The featured speaker at the Baton Rouge event is Paul Greenwood, a nationally recognized fraud expert who will deliver the keynote address. Greenwood will cover emerging scam tactics, common warning signs to watch for, and practical steps people can take to better protect themselves and their families.

The Oct. 21 program goes beyond the keynote with a full lineup of educational and community-focused activities, including:

• An expert panel discussion on fraud trends and prevention strategies
