Writing for Change: Grant Proposal Writing for Nursing Faculty is a practical guide designed to support nursing faculty in their efforts to secure grant funding for strengthening academic programs, advancing nursing education, and contributing to workforce development. It was developed following a 2025 grant-writing workshop by AARP and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

The detailed, 60-page manual offers a structured framework for every stage of the grant-writing process—from idea development through submission. It includes worksheets, examples, and reflective prompts designed to help faculty apply best practices to their own proposals, whether working individually or as part of a team. Its guidance applies to crafting competitive proposals for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and private foundations.
