AARP Local Solutions Collection

These communities made positive change for people of all ages with help from AARP

AARP works directly with communities and is engaging, supporting and assisting with local livability programs and pursuits nationwide.

Several of the community solutions featured in this collection will result in whole or in part from AARP Community Challenge grant funding. A select few of the communities received direct advisory services from livability practitioners, such as architects, transportation planners and economic development specialists. (See our Lessons From Livability Leaders collection.) In others places, local community organizations and leaders worked in partnership with AARP state office staff and volunteers.
