The unofficial holiday dates back to 1917 when the Salvation Army’s Doughnut Lassies — a group of women sent to France during World War I to set up field bases near the front lines — made doughnuts for the soldiers in their makeshift huts. The first National Donut Day was celebrated in 1938 in Chicago to honor those brave women, and the tradition is still going strong today.

No purchase is necessary to get the deal, but limited-time donuts, seasonal donuts and cinnamon rolls are excluded. In addition, in-person guests who buy any dozen can get a dozen glazed donuts for $2 on June 5 at participating locations.

Not wanting to leave your house for Krispy Kreme? DoorDash customers who place an order at a participating Krispy Kreme with a minimum subtotal of $25 will save $7 at checkout. Place your orders on the DoorDash app from June 4 to June 18 to redeem this deal.

7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes

7Rewards and Speedy Rewards members can head to participating 7-Eleven, Speedway or Stripes on June 5 for 50-cent glazed donuts with no limit to how many you can purchase. Non-rewards members can also get 7-Select Mini Donut packs for $1 now through June 23 at participating locations.
