9 Fast Food Freebies to Get You Through 2023

Here’s where to snag a free bite to help your holiday budget

Is holiday shopping taking a toll on your wallet? Some fast food chains are offering free snacks and meals that may lessen the burden. From free french fries to glazed doughnuts, here’s where to find freebie deals through the end of the year.

Burger King

Burger King will observe National French Toast Day on Nov. 28. Purchase anything for more than a dollar during regular breakfast hours at participating restaurants and get a free three-piece order of French toast sticks. This offer is only available for Royal Perks members, and customers should activate the deal on the app or the website’s “offers” tab before ordering to redeem.

Royal Perk members can also get a free order of fries each week until Dec. 31 with any purchase. Just add the offer to your cart on the app or online before placing your order.

Have a delivery over $20? The membership entitles customers to a free Whopper sandwich through Dec. 3.

Wendy’s

Each Wednesday through the end of the year, you can get a free six-piece chicken nugget when you purchase something through the Wendy’s app or website.

And when you purchase a Frosty Key Tag for $3, you can get a free Jr. Frosty every day with any Wendy’s purchase until the end of 2024. Customers can buy key tags from Nov. 20, 2023, through Feb. 14, 2024; they’re available in-store, on the app or at the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption website.

Dunkin’

Free Donut Wednesdays is back through Dec. 27. Order any beverage on a Wednesday and you’re entitled to a free classic doughnut including “everything from Boston Kreme to glazed,” according to Savannah Lawandales, a Dunkin' public relations representative. With the Dunkin' rewards program, each dollar spent earns 10 points, and members can start redeeming for treats starting at 150 points.

McDonald’s

Treat yourself to fries each Friday through the end of the year. When you make a purchase for at least a dollar through the McDonald’s app, you get a free order of medium fries.

Whataburger

Anyone that downloads the Whataburger app and signs up for a rewards account can get a free single Whataburger – the chain’s signature burger. The offer is ongoing. Customers are also able to see other upcoming freebies on the Whataburger app.

Domino’s

The pizza chain is offering an “Emergency Pizza” through Feb. 11, 2024. When you order online or place a digital carry-out order of more than $7.99, you’ll be able to get a free medium two-topping pizza. You must be a Domino’s Rewards member, and per their site, the “offer must be claimed within seven days and redeemed within 30 days at the My Deals and Rewards page in their loyalty account.”

Make sure you check your receipt or Chick-fil-A app next time you order. Some receipts come with an invitation to fill out a customer service survey and offer a free chicken sandwich upon completion. Or, check the “News” tab on the mobile app.

Subway

Subway MVP Rewards members can get a free cookie with any purchase of a 6-inch or foot-long sub. Limit one free cookie per order, and the offer can’t be combined with other deals.

Carl’s Jr.

Join the Carl’s Jr. My Rewards program for a free sandwich. New members can choose from a free Western Bacon Cheeseburger, Famous Star burger or Hand-Breaded Chicken sandwich with a purchase of at least a dollar. Use the freebie within 30 days of signing up for the app.
