Slon, who has served as deputy editor since November 2000, will oversee the day-to-day operation of the publication, the largest circulation magazine in the country with a guaranteed rate base of 21.5 million.

"Steve is an inspired editor who has played a key role in shaping the editorial voice of the magazine and made it a must-read for our members," said Delehanty. "He has the passion, creativity and gut-level knowledge of our audience to lift the magazine to new heights. I can't wait to see what happens next."

In this expanded role, Bowers will be responsible for forging strategic alliances with new publishing partners.
