FILM FESTIVAL SPONSORED BY ROKU® BRINGS STARS TO ATLANTA, OFFERING PRE-RELEASE SCREENINGS TO ATTENDEES AND Q&A WITH TALENT

Two-day event is part of AARP’s Life @50+ National Event & Expo,
October 3-5 at Georgia World Congress Center
WHO/WHAT: The AARP Movies for Grownups® Film Festival sponsored by Roku® will offer a stellar lineup of films to attendees of its national event in ”Hotlanta!” Four films—including three pre-release screenings—will be featured during the festival as part of AARP’S bi-annual Life@50+ event. Actors Andy Garcia and Ed Begley, Jr., along with director Jonathan Holiff and writer/director Adam Rogers, will appear to discuss their movies and take questions from the audience.

1:00pm – At Middleton (In theaters January 2014)
Andy Garcia and Vera Farmiga star in this film about a man and a woman who fall in love while taking their kids on a college admissions tour.
Talent Availability: Andy Garcia will participate in a post-film Q&A alongside writer/director Adam Rodgers. Photo opps/interviews to follow the Q&A with the audience.
4:00pm – Nebraska (In theaters November 22nd, 2013)
After receiving a sweepstakes letter in the mail, a cantankerous father (Bruce Dern) thinks he’s struck it rich, and wrangles his son (Will Forte) into taking a road trip to claim the fortune. Directed by Oscar-winner Alexander Payne and shot in black and white across four states, Nebraska tells the stories of family life in the heartland of America.

An intense personal adventure that happens to feature one of 20th-century music's greatest icons, this documentary tells the inside story of 'bad boy' Johnny Cash; his talented but troubled manager, Saul Holiff; and a son searching for his father in the shadow of a legend.

2:00pm – Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight (Debuts on HBO on October 5, 2013)
When Muhammad Ali was drafted into the Vietnam War at the height of his boxing career, his claim to conscientious objector status on religious grounds led to a legal battle that landed in the U.S. Supreme Court. The film explores the story behind the court’s decision at a time of social and cultural transformation in America. Starring Christopher Plummer, Frank Langella, Ed Begley, Jr., Fritz Weaver, Harris Yulin, Peter Gerety, Barry Levinson, John Bedford Lloyd and Danny Glover.
