Movies for Grownups Film Festival Heads to AARP’s National Event

Film Festival Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Thousands Attending Orlando@50+ Event Sept. 30th – October 2nd

Rob Reiner, Linda Gray Among Talent Confirmed To Attend

WASHINGTON (Sept. 7, 2010) – AARP The Magazine, the definitive voice for 50+ Americans and the world’s largest-circulation magazine with more than 35 million readers, today announced the lineup for its 2nd annual Movies for Grownups® Film Festival. Offered exclusively as part of AARP’s national event & expo, Orlando@50+, the festival will run Sept. 30th – Oct. 2nd at the Orange County Convention Center’s state-of-the-art Linda W. Chapin Theater in Orlando, FL.  The film festival will feature nine of the season’s best movies (including a few new, yet-to-be-released films!) that engage grownup audiences with challenging topics, unique approaches, and groundbreaking performances by actors, actresses, directors, and writers age 50+. 

“We’re looking forward to rolling out the red carpet for our members and bringing deserved attention to 50+ film makers and actors during the Movies for Grownups film festival, said Nancy Perry Graham, Editor of AARP The Magazine. “We’re proud to celebrate movies with storylines, performances, and filmmaking that have distinct relevance to the 50+ audience and these fantastic films are sure to have people talking this award-show season.”

Several of the films’ stars/directors/producers will be on hand to participate in Q&A discussions with attendees, including Rob Reiner, Linda Gray and George Hickenlooper.
