[0:00:00] I just can’t watch TV about food or movies about food.
[0:00:04] It makes me crazy.
[0:00:05] Tried to watch The Bear. Couldn’t do it.
[0:00:15] I think that right now we are seeing so much hype around protein that I’m
[0:00:20] almost on the verge of saying eat less protein, which I would not say, but I
[0:00:26] would say do not go insane thinking you should be eating protein all the time.
[0:00:31] Part of this protein craze is an excuse to eat meat, but most people
[0:00:35] get enough protein, and it’s worth remembering that all food, inclu-
[0:00:39] even lettuce, contains protein.
[0:00:42] It’s just how much?
[0:00:47] You use the word vegan, everybody goes, “I don’t want to be one of those people,” and I don’t want to be one of those people either.
[0:00:52] It has this sort of all-or-nothing feel, and it doesn’t have to.
[0:01:01] Most salads are vegan, pasta with tomato sauce, most french fries for that matter.
[0:01:08] I just think everyone is looking for ways to cook more plants, and this
[0:01:13] new cookbook has got ways to cook more plants. And they’re really good.
[0:01:23] It’s not a talent. It’s a skill or a craft.
[0:01:26] It’s something you can learn how to do.
[0:01:27] It’s way easier than learning how to play guitar, I can say, as someone who’s
[0:01:31] attempted to learn how to play guitar.
[0:01:33] I learned how to cook from cookbooks.
[0:01:35] No one showed me how to do it.
[0:01:36] I would recommend people have a cookbook or two that they like, that
[0:01:41] speaks to them, rather than just randomly looking up recipes online.
[0:01:50] My partner says that it’s a nightmare to eat in restaurants with me.
[0:01:54] They get annoyed because my cooking is better than their cooking.
[0:01:58] They get annoyed because the service is usually, you know, whatever.
[0:02:03] Everybody’s gonna do takeout.
[0:02:04] Everybody’s gonna eat in restaurants.
[0:02:07] But the more you cook for yourself, the more you stock your pantry,
[0:02:11] the more you feed yourself at home, the better off you’re going to be.
