[00:00:00] Cedric the Entertainer: We were born, we didn’t know each other, and then we knew each other. And it’s been that long.
[00:00:06] Anthony Anderson: That’s how long we’ve known each other. We are now doing AARP interviews together. Cedric the Entertainer: This business kind of stemmed from our friendship and
[00:00:27] the fact that, you know, we was like, “We just need a reason to be hanging out.” Like, so, you know, why not be grilling?
[00:00:32] Anthony Anderson: It went from seasoning blends and sauces to a reality show chronicling us starting the business, to a friendship, to us opening a
[00:00:41] restaurant here in Los Angeles. Cedric the Entertainer: We love this culture of barbecue, and that’s what this, The Husky and Handsome Guide to Grilling is all about.
[00:00:57] The, the spots, the restaurants, the recipes, the people. You know, just what, what it is to be in that barbecue culture
[00:01:04] and, and take people inside it and encourage them to do it on their own. Anthony Anderson: These recipes that we have in there are from all over
[00:01:11] the world, and they are family recipes from the people that we got them from. Cedric the Entertainer: We did this book with an intention of being, you
[00:01:18] know, inclusive, easy to follow along. You know you can’t eat a lot of red meat, like, all week, but when you
[00:01:25] do, you want it to be very good. You want it to be very delicious. Anthony Anderson: There’s no secret I’m a type 2 diabetic, so I had to change
[00:01:38] my, my lifestyle, uh, and, and the things that I was putting inside my body. Cedric the Entertainer: You definitely gotta watch the sugars
[00:01:45] and, you know, a lot of the carbs, uh, that turn into sugars. And so a lot more lean meats and veggies with less of the, uh,
[00:01:55] you know, fries and, you know, starches and those kind of things. Anthony Anderson: It’s one of those things where, you know, getting up in age, you
[00:02:03] know, a body in motion stays in motion. And, and, and that is my philosophy now. Just getting up and keeping, keeping the body moving.
[00:02:13] Cedric the Entertainer: I’m just encouraged every day to get up and go out and make somebody’s life brighter, man, and happy
[00:02:18] that I have the skill set to do it. Anthony Anderson: If you do, uh, what you love, you never work a day in your life.
[00:02:24] And, and we get to do what we love every day of our lives. Cedric the Entertainer: Yeah.
