Despite being one of the nation's fastest-growing and most diverse populations, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities remain among the least studied groups in U.S. health research. Through the Amplify AAPI Health Series, AARP Research examines health knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and experiences across diverse AAPI populations. The findings are intended to help inform outreach, education, policy development, and healthy aging initiatives that support the health and well-being of AAPI adults nationwide.
About the Amplify AAPI Health Series
The Amplify AAPI Health Series was created to address longstanding gaps in health research on AAPI populations. The Series draws on data from the Amplify AAPI Panel, the nation's first multilingual, probability-based survey panel designed to represent AAPI adults, to provide timely, nationally representative insights on key health topics affecting these communities. Leveraging the unique capabilities of the Amplify AAPI Panel, the series provides nationally representative data and insights across AAPI origin groups, age cohorts, and nativity status.
By highlighting both shared experiences and important differences within the AAPI population, the series aims to support researchers, policymakers, health care providers, advocates, and community organizations working to improve health outcomes and promote healthy aging among AAPI adults.
The series begins with Brain Health and will be followed by reports on Mental Health, Hearing Health, Cancer, and Diet & Diabetes.
All reports in this series use data from the Amplify AAPI Panel, a multilingual, probability-based survey panel developed by NORC at the University of Chicago with support from AARP. The panel was specifically designed to improve representation and understanding of AAPI populations in survey research.
