Many companies are considering employee financial wellness as part of their benefits and compensation strategy. Helping workers build emergency savings is one tactic that is gaining popularity. The AARP Public Policy Institute fielded a national survey to test the appeal of a payroll-deduction rainy day savings program among employees. The survey also identified the program features that are most important to workers. On September 20, 2018, leading behavioral economist Warren Cormier reviewed the survey findings. A discussion with providers and policy experts followed.
