ABOUT

Ari Houser is a Senior Methods Advisor at the AARP Public Policy Institute, where he has been the lead data analyst on several major recurring and stand-alone projects, including the Nursing Home COVID-19 Dashboard, the Long-Term Services and Supports State Scorecard, and the Valuing the Invaluable estimates of the economic value of family caregiving. In addition, he provides methodological and statistical assistance across the Public Policy Institute on a variety of topics, and represents AARP on several technical expert panels and advisory groups relating to home- and community-based services quality measurement.

Before joining AARP, Houser worked as a think tank policy analyst and taught classes in statistics and public policy.

He earned a doctorate in measurement, statistics, and evaluation from the University of Maryland and also has bachelor’s degrees in engineering and physics from Swarthmore College.
