Many older New Orleans face heightened risks during hurricanes due to language barriers and limited access to emergency information. The Vietnamese Initiative in Economic Training offered disaster preparedness workshops in multiple languages for older adults. Staff and local partners taught generator safety, evacuation planning and basic emergency readiness. Participants received hurricane preparation bags to keep at home..
