Getting Started
Sign up for free at dating.aarp.org. First, enter the age range you're interested in and your ZIP code. Click Find Dates. Then create a username and password to begin. If you are an AARP member, you get a seven-day free trial and 50 percent off membership.

Getting Around (Top Navigation)
The navigation bar at the top of the page lets you Search Dates, browse Date Ideas or hit Play for a quick round of “Speed Date.” Easily access your profile by clicking the face icon in the upper right-hand corner or clicking your photo. You can also upload a photo on this page.

Getting Around (Sub Navigation)
The black navigation bar is where you’ll find: Messages (visit your inbox, where you can send messages and receive messages from other users), Visitors to your profile (see who’s checking you out) and Favorites (just click the star to go back to dates or people you’ve saved).

Suggest a First-Date Idea
Next, it's time to get creative. AARP Dating sets itself apart from other dating sites by focusing on the action. Simply finish the phrase "How about we ..." with your perfect date idea. This can be anything, from dinner theater to dancing. Just include a brief description and post it.

View Your Profile
Now you need to let other daters learn more about you. You can visit your profile by hovering your mouse over the face icon in the upper right-hand corner and selecting My Profile in the drop-down menu. If you haven’t uploaded a photo, you may do so now.

How to Upload a Profile Photo
On your profile page, you'll be prompted to upload a few photos of yourself to pique the interest of potential dates. Just click Upload a Photo and select the picture you want from your computer. It's best to include at least a few pictures. The more, the better.

Edit Your Profile
Filling out your profile will give other daters a better idea of your personality, interests and values. On the drop-down menu under your photo, select My Profile. From here, click on the little blue icons to fill out basic information and fun details about yourself. (For example: “The movie I've watched the most times ...")

Coming Back?
Just visit dating.aarp.org and select Member Login. Enter your username and password and you’re ready to go. Forgot your password? No problem. Just select Forgot Password and you will get an email with a link to reset it.
