Nestle Toll House Cookie Dough Recalled, May Contain Wood Pieces

Nestle USA recalled two batches of its Toll House chocolate chip cookie dough because they may be contaminated with wood fragments.

The company said it issued the recall in an abundance of caution after a “small number” of customers contacted Nestle about the issue. No illnesses or injuries have been reported.

The recalled product is the Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough “break and bake” Bar, available in 16.5-ounce packages. They were produced on April 24 and 25 and distributed nationwide to retailers.

The affected batch numbers, which can be found on the side of the package, are 311457531K and 311557534K. The corresponding “best by” dates are Aug. 22 and Oct. 23. Other Nestle Toll House products were not affected.

Anyone who purchased the recalled cookie dough should not prepare or consume the product. Instead, return it to the store where it was purchased for a replacement or refund. Nestle USA may be contacted at 800-681-1678, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

“We are confident that this is an isolated issue and we have taken action to address,” the company said in the recall statement. “The quality, safety and integrity of our products remain our number-one priority.”
