Dollar Store Recall: Over 400 OTC Health Products Affected

Products sold by Family Dollar include pain relievers, toothpaste, deodorant, soap

Over 400 over-the-counter health products were recalled from Family Dollar after they were stored at the wrong temperature before being delivered to stores, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.

Among the items are pain relievers, toothpaste, deodorant and soap. The full list of products includes brands such as:

The products were shipped around May 1 through June 10 and delivered to Family Dollar stores in the continental U.S. except Delaware. The company does not have stores in Alaska or Hawaii.

To date, Family Dollar hasn’t received any complaints or reports of illness from customers. Meanwhile, stores have been asked to check their stocks and discontinue the sale of any of the recalled products.

Customers may return any of the affected products to the store where they were purchased without the receipt. Those with questions about the recall may contact Family Dollar Customer Service at 844-636-7687 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET.

Anyone who experiences health problems from using the recalled products should contact their health care provider.

Negative reactions or quality issues resulting from use of recalled items may also be reported to the FDA’s MedWatch adverse event reporting program in the following ways:​​​​

• Complete and submit a report online.​

• Regular mail or fax: Download the form for consumers, or call 800-332-1088 to request a reporting form. Complete and return to the address listed on the form, or submit by fax to 800-332-0178.​​​
