2019 Movies for Grownups Awards Nominees

Winners to be announced at January show airing on PBS

En español | Laura DernRenée ZellwegerPedro Almodóvar, Billy Crudup, Linda Ronstadt and Annette Bening are among the stars expected at the 2019 Movies for Grownups Awards ceremony on Saturday in Beverly Hills, California.

Actor Tony Danza hosts the show, which will air on  PBS’s Great Performances Jan. 19 (check local listings; it also will stream on pbs.org/gperf). Bening will accept a career achievement award, joining such previous recipients as Kevin Costner, Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Shirley MacLaine and Helen Mirren.

Event proceeds will benefit AARP Foundation, which works to end senior poverty by building economic opportunity and social connections for vulnerable older adults in Los Angeles and across the country.

With mature talent now making progress in Hollywood — most of the top-grossing actors and filmmakers are over 50 — there has never been a wider array of candidates for the Movies for Grownups Awards.
