They say fairy-tale endings only exist in novels, movies, or dreams. But Brian Kitchen’s story had a happy ending in real life. The account in Jeffrey Marx’s new book, "The Long Snapper," is quite appealing.

The book is based on the true adventures of a 38-year-old father, husband, and seventh-grade Bible teacher who received the call of a lifetime. It was a request from the New England Patriots to be a fill-in snapper. It's not usually the most important role on a football team, but in many games a snapper's precision can mean the difference between winning and losing.
