What is the best way to communicate with a medical professional?

Don’t be shy or embarrassed to discuss anything with your doctor. Whether it’s a question about sexual function or the price of a drug, you should not be afraid to bring it up. In the interest of your health, you need to be candid. Your doctor should make you feel comfortable talking about any topic.

When at the doctor’s appointment, ask about any medical tests so you understand their purpose. Once you get results or a diagnosis, be sure you get a full explanation and discuss your treatment options.

Consider bringing a family member or friend along to lend support, if needed.
