Ben Vereen

Ben Vereen is an award-winning performer who has shared stories of his personal challenges to awaken people to the gift of life. He has a recurring role on the hit CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

Vereen is perhaps best known for portraying “Chicken George” on the groundbreaking TV series, Roots. For his stage performances, Vereen won a Tony Award for Bob Fosse’s Pippin and has also starred on Broadway in Wicked, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar and I’m Not Rappaport. Adversities he has overcome include the death of his teenage daughter, a serious car accident, a stroke and diabetes.
