Richard Simmons

Richard Simmons is a fitness expert who has helped people lose millions of pounds through sensible eating and energetic exercise.

After tackling a high-school weight problem, Simmons moved from his native New Orleans to Los Angeles, where he established an innovative place where overweight people felt welcome.  Simmons still teaches at SLIMMONS in Beverly Hills, California.

His 50 fitness videos, which have sold over 20 million copies, pair lively music with rocking routines and humorous banter. Simmons has authored nine books, including three best-selling cookbooks and an autobiography titled Still Hungry After All These Years. His Emmy Award-winning series, The Richard Simmons Show, had a four-year syndicated run.
