AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities
AARP Livable Communities
This is the final in a series of six videos about the process of making a community more "age-friendly" by joining the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities.
This video (or module) explains how to begin operationalizing age-friendly work after the community action plan is complete. This includes forming teams and work groups, publicizing and promoting age-friendly activities, building strong partnerships, recruiting and engaging volunteers, and setting goals and measurable metrics. The module discusses the three ways to measure and quantify age-friendly work (inputs, outputs and outcomes) as well as the four types of data a community will collect (primary data, secondary data, quantitative data and qualitative data).
After the first years of implementation, a community will complete and submit an age-friendly progress report to document the work, celebrate accomplishments and plan for future work.
