About Us
Public and nonprofit organizations benefit from an expanded workforce that gives them the opportunity to improve services through association with AARP Foundation’s Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). SCSEP job seekers normally perform a variety of tasks that may not be accomplished because of a gap in funding.
Through AARP Foundation’s SCSEP, job seekers can be placed in a wide variety of positions including day care centers, senior centers, governmental agencies, schools, hospitals, libraries and landscaping centers. These positions are training assignments designed to provide the skills and experience to obtain future employment, but at the same time provides no cost labor for the local organizations.

Become a Host Agency
The host agency is instrumental and is typically any 501(c)(3) non-profit agency, community-based organization or government agency. By training at a local organization, older job seekers build the skills and behaviors needed to be successful in obtaining a job and keeping it. Also, work-training in a realistic environment provides the opportunity to gain knowledge and feedback that will help SCSEP job seekers be successful in the long-term.
AARP Foundation provides talented, hardworking older workers to our host agencies. Together, we can offer opportunities that improve employment opportunities to older workers as we expand their service to the community.
Be a Part of Something Great
Each year, we partner on average with 3,600 host agencies across the United States and we generate an average of 6,500,000 services hours (the number of hours SCSEP job seekers work at host agencies annually).
