Dementia Care Technology and Innovation Forum

The “Dementia Care Technology and Innovation Forum" will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington DC, located at 641 D Street, NW.

It will commence at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at 5:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The forum is designed as a memorable interactive and creative experience that will raise awareness, map out opportunities, and inspire impactful action. This one-day collaboration will focus on the challenges experienced by those living with dementia and the promise that new, innovative technologies hold for improving the quality of their lives and of their caregivers.

Our forum audience will play an important role in identifying the issues that may impede the development and launch of promising dementia-care technology as well as opportunities to overcome these barriers. Invitees include policy thought leaders, advocates, technology providers, people with dementia, caregivers, and members of the media.

The day will begin with a musical play, Tangles, illustrating one family’s experience with dementia followed by an audience conversation about the journey. It will also feature a 'Live Pitch' event that highlights new and emerging technologies from a select group of start-ups that address the particular needs of those living with dementia and of their caregivers. Each innovation is designed for a positive impact on the journey of a person with dementia covering diagnosis and treatment, therapy, caregiver coaching, social engagement and independent living.
