•Parent PLUS borrowers must consolidate existing loans before July 1, 2026 to retain eligibility for income-driven repayment plans and forgiveness.
• Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) is still available, but qualifying plans and employer eligibility rules are changing.
• Other repayment plans like SAVE, PAYE, and ICR are being phased out, and most borrowers will need to switch to a new plan by 2028.
