FROM TEXAS
My oldest sister was a caregiver for many years. She cared for my dad until he passed away. When he got sick, my sister helped with medications, feeding, lifting, moving, bathing, clothing, restroom assistance - all tasks that can be difficult for caregivers. Then, my mother got sick and my sister did the same for her until she passed. And then, another older sister became ill also, and again, my sister took on caregiver responsibilities. My sister had the everyday task of taking care of an adult, and she never complained; she was happy to do it. It meant everything in the world for my sisters and I because, while we helped as much as we could, our jobs didn't allow us to be there full-time. I don't think there are any words, or amount of money to express our gratitude for my sister.
