FROM OHIO

I am a single mom of three children, ages 20, 17 and 10. I am an only child and my mother who is now 86, raised me as a single mom too. My mother was always there for me, and took extremely great care in raising me. In January 2013, my oldest son, then 17, became very ill and was in a coma for 48 days and then in the hospital recuperating another 6 months. My son has been home with me since September 2013, but he is 100% care and dependent on myself, family and some nurses. I am my son's full time caregiver and parent. I also have to take care of my other two children, work and take care of my mother. She lives with us, unable to drive, unable to see in one eye, high blood pressure and general old age disabilities. I will not have my son and mother in a nursing home, they are at home with family and love, even if it is a 24/7 job. They are so worth it. My son is slowly improving, my mother is not. It is hard every second of every day to see them both struggle. Even though my life has changed, their lives have changed dramatically. I cannot imagine what they are going through, so I try to make their lives as happy and comfortable as possible. When my mother passes, I will miss her terribly. And hopefully my son will recover completely and get his life back, and then I will be so grateful to the Dear Lord for his recovery, and the time spent with my mother and son, and the gift God has given me to be able to care for these two amazing people.
