FROM MICHIGAN

This is the hardest story I think I've had to write writing about my loved, one my husband, my best friend he was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 5 years old and was cancer-free when he was 8. For the most part he's been pretty healthy for the remaining of his life until he was 42 and it came back this time it hit so hard so fast that the prognosis was bleak. He went through chemo and I saw him start to deteriorate he lost 40 lb and chemo soon became obsolete. I never lost hope until he stopped fighting. He wasn't responding to treatment. He was tired after a year. He refused to stay in the hospital his only place he ever wanted to be was at home with his family so I had a nurse come and help administer through hospice pain killer to help with the pain. I took time off work for two months to stay by his bedside. We had been married for 15 years with one child who was in high school. My whole world came crashing down and in one short week he was gone. Life is too precious too short especially my age to already be a widow I will always love you David I have not remarried nor am I even looking he was my everything. Luckily with our insurance covered everything was taken care of I had enough time at work to take off I had a lot of co-workers who donated time to help so that was a blessing to have an understanding job. I helped him every way I could. Thank you for letting me share my story.
