My mother has always been my best friend. It is an honor that I (along with my husband and sons) can take care of her. She doesn't realize she has Alzheimer's and will comment about how sad it is for other people we know who has it. We struggle with finances and exhaustion, but cherish everyday with her. I'm so grateful that my boys get to have this time with their grandma, even though it's not easy. Luckily my mom is a happy person and that's one thing the Alzheimer's hasn't taken.
