FROM ILLINOIS

My husband of 25 years had several strokes in 2014. He spent many days in the hospital and I just brought him home. While working my job, I would stop in every 2 hours to see him through the bad times. I used cognitive therapy to help regain his speech and we walked and walked until he could go down to the mailbox by himself. The strokes affected his frontal lobe of his brain that controls the emotions and he suffered from severe depression afterwards. With medication, walking and talking all the time, he managed to regain his speech patterns and was able to become mobile again. He became active with an animal rescue and started feeding baby kittens which helped with depression. In the last two years with plenty of interaction with animals and me, we have conquered it all by ourselves and he went back to school.
