FROM FLORIDA
Both my mom and dad, Sylvia and Sixto, were diabetic, had heart disease, failing kidneys and both lost their vision from diabetes. My mom had fibromyalgia of the hands and legs and could not comb her hair and barely held a fork to eat. My dad had poor circulation and extremely swollen feet making it difficult to walk or stand, along with prostate cancer. Only when my dad was close to dying we were able to get a hospice nurse for 2 hours daily. My sister and I gave them insulin daily, cooked and fed them, bathed them, and just took the best care possible until they both died 2002 and 2003.
