The Legacy Couples Project recognizes same-sex couples who have been in committed relationships of 10 years or longer.
In 2021, the project spearheaded the curation of 400+ Years of LGBTQ Love, an audio-visual exhibition featuring portraits of 14 queer couples.
The AARP Community Challenge grant helped the grantee and its partners (HistoryMiami Museum, the Yes Institute, and the Art Deco Museum) photograph and record older couples telling their stories of love. The participants included an octogenarian couple celebrating more than 50 years together.
