AARP's Social Security Q&A Tool

I am 60 and beginning to plan my retirement. With all of the proposed cuts and changes to Social Security, I'm wondering if I will be affected. Should I still wait to claim my benefits until full retirement age?

With the exception of the Chained CPI, the changes that would be made to Social Security likely would not affect those who are very close to retirement age. The Social Security program has sufficient resources to pay full benefits until 2033.
