Now that President Obama's historic health care bill has become law, the next big debate in Washington may be what to do about Social Security.

Since it was signed into law by President Roosevelt in 1935, the Social Security program has brought economic peace of mind to tens of millions of Americans. For 20 percent of retirees, their monthly benefit is their sole source of income.  For others it is a welcome supplement to a meager pension or nest egg. For all Americans, it is an article of faith that the money they put into the system will be there for them in their retirement.  In 2010, that faith is now being tested.
